WHAT ARE THE PEOPLE LIKE AT 5TH AVENUE?
You will receive a warm welcome and a smile as a guest and no pressure or awkward moments to endure. You will see a cross section of our community worshiping here.

WHERE DO I GO ON MY FIRST VISIT?
We have greeters available to help you find your way around here at 5th Avenue, they can direct you to our Worship Center, Children’s areas and Bible Study Classes.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT WHEN I COME IN?
I actually have never experienced a church family that tries harder to make others feel welcome like they do here, just as Jesus modeled.  No one is going to force you to sign anything, say anything, or sing anything.  Check us out and relax.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
You choose.  Dress casual or formal.  You will see both styles and in between too.

CAN I MEET THE PASTOR?
Pastor Gene and his wife Gail welcome the opportunity to meet you and/or your family after worship time in our Welcome Center.  If you would like to schedule an appointment to meet with Pastor Gene and ask any questions please call the office to set up an appointment.

WHERE WILL MY NEWBORN/INFANT GO?
Our greeters will be glad to direct you to our staffed “bed-baby room” by the Worship Center.  We can call you on your cell phone (it’s on vibrate of course) if a need arises that requires your attention.

FIRST TIME WITH CHILDREN?
Children kindergarten through fifth grade go to “big church” for the singing, skits etc but leave for Joy Jammers (our Children’s Music Ministry) before the message.  We provide age appropriate care for younger children in our Preschool Building during the Worship Service.

WHAT ABOUT SECURITY?
We are very careful about your child’s safety including a computerized check-in system.  It provides us with allergy information and you with a “pick up tag” so we make sure no unauthorized people are allowed access to your child.

WHAT ABOUT THE CHILDREN/STUDENT MINISTRY WORKERS?
Our ministry workers are all screened using extensive national background checks, not just Florida.  They work with one other person and we are vigilant to insure your child and our children are taken care of safely and securely.

ARE THERE ANY MIDDLE SCHOOL OR HIGH SCHOOL AGED PEOPLE?
Our Middle School and High Schoolers take up about the first 4 rows in the Worship Center.  Many participate in worship playing instruments and as well as serving in our media production.  Don’t worry about “fitting in”.  You will.  Someone just like you is here every Sunday.  It’s a little bit like heaven that way.

I KNOW I AM A CHRISTIAN BUT I MADE SOME BAD CHOICES. I’M NOT SURE HOW I WILL BE ACCEPTED.
First, who hasn’t?  Starting with Adam and Eve to date only Jesus was or will ever be perfect.  Secondly, our mission and heart for ministry is to help and encourage you not “shoot the wounded”.   Again, I am sure in time you could find someone here who has been down the same dead end road you visited.  It’s not question of “IF” sinful mistakes were made but rather, what have I learned and what have I committed to do different so its not repeated.

I NEED TO TALK ABOUT A SPIRITUAL PROBLEM WITH SOMEONE.
We have excellent Bible Study leaders including many Deacons with experience and wisdom willing and ready to listen.  For the ladies we are blessed with many godly ladies who would listen and pray with you.  The pastoral staff welcomes you to share as well.  We will set up a time with the appropriate gender.

DO MY SINFUL CHOICES MEAN I AM A SECOND CLASS BELEIVER?
No there are no second class members of God’s family.  Sin has its own price in pain and suffering, but aren’t you glad Moses, Kind David, Peter, and others throughout the Bible didn’t quit when they failed.  God sometimes teaches us about our pride and weakness by letting us hit “face first” into the pit of failure.  But He also offers a way out. Satan never does.  His job is to lie to us and about us.  That is how he kills and steals from us. He steals the joy of our salvation and fellowship with God and each other.

DOES GOD ACTUALLY LOVE ME EVEN WITH MY TERRIBLE CHOICES?
We all make choices daily.  Some are smart and right choices and because we are human some will be bad, sometimes really bad choices.  The Word teaches us there is no sin God will not forgive except “blaspheming the Holy Spirit.”  Meaning to ignore, deny and reject or even curse the Spirit of God’s prompting and direction in our heart.

Regardless of our life choices the God of the second chance (and many more) has a wonderful way of causing revival to explode in the middle of dark and hard times.  The great news is God will love us and turn what Satan intends for evil into good.

He will also use that weakness and make it a strength moving us forward in Christ if we are ready to yield to His will and respond in His power.  When we don’t we will always fail no matter the world’s estimation of us.  We always win if we repent and obey Him.  The fellowship is restored and we commune again with Him.

Why miss His very best?  Why retreat from His presence or His blessings?  His peace and joy are yours when you open your heart.

“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If any man hears my voice, and opens the door. I will come in.   Rev 3:20closeRevelation 3:20 20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me. (ESV)

WHAT MINISTRIES DO YOU HAVE?
You can look through the web site but we have something for all ages.  If you have a heart for a ministry that we do not have lets talk about your interest and pray about making it a reality here.
